We are celebrating our first year in business.

We would love to share our journey of our first year with you of how LA has become the market leader in South East Queensland for Recruitment and Consultant Service to health care business.

It started with a dream. We added some faith, and LA started to become a belief for us. We then added some action, and LA rapidly became a part of our lives and our families lives. We have needed a tonne of perseverance, and our goals soon became closer in sight. We have had to be very patient and with time over the past year, our vision of LA is very near – a dream for us has come true.

This time last year we’re still moving into our beautiful LA office located on Wickham Terrace in Spring Hill. It was a strategic decision to base ourselves on the Terrace, so we are easily accessible to all our candidates and clients with a network of public transport close by. We have invested in state of the art facilities to allow us to provide innovative services to our clients and candidates. It was also strategic to build a business that has a corporate footprint and room for expansion including the opening of our Gold Coast Office. Our commitment to the industry is ever present with our industry specific qualifications that no other organisation can offer.

On this day last year, it was just the two of us and our dream. We were sitting in our half-finished office looking at each eating chocolate for dinner on the floor. We quickly found ourselves busy with work and recruiting a LA team to help us build our dream – and then one employee, became two, then three, and now we are a team of seven. We now have a dedicated administration and consulting team to assist our clients and candidates.

We have laughed and worried together, lost sleep and worked our buts off, we have had a couple of head spinning moments, and not to mention a baby was born!

We look back on our year proudly. We entered a market that was competitive, we had challenges to face early on with setting up a new business, we had many long days and nights and not to mention a million balls to juggle at once – but we did it. We supported one another, we shared each other’s stress, and we always stuck together.

We often get asked, how do you do it? The answer is simple, we are surrounded by amazing mentors who we have leaned on, we are blessed with great clients and candidates, and a supportive LA team that works very hard. We have the best families who help us both enormously at work and at home. We are both very thankful to our amazing husbands who have silently worked hard behind the scenes to help us.

We have supported each other more than most will ever know. We have listened and learnt from one another and demanded high standards for ourselves and our performance. We always respect each other and most importantly we have and continue to share a common vision for our business. We work to our strengths and complement our weaknesses. We listen to one another and sometimes even laugh at each other – to the point our mascara is dripping off chins.

LA is growing strong and we could not of achieved our success without our friends, families, and work colleagues, both inside and outside of LA – and those wonderful people who help us know who you are! Thank you for all your support. We could not of achieved our dream without you. We also know our success has been underpinned with fantastic clients and candidates who have given us a chance to build LA.

So, we want to share our special day with all of you and say thanks for all you have given us. From our humble beginnings, our market reach has now grown to all of South East Queensland and our client base is growing stronger every day. We started with a small network which has built and grown beyond our expectations. We are currently looking to expand our services and we are planning to build a bigger LA office as we are outgrowing our current space.

We have so many exciting plans for this year and cannot wait to share them with you. Our primary focus will never change and that is to ensure each month of 2018 we put a tremendous amount of time and effort into guiding our clients and candidates towards success.

In life, we often get tied down by what we think isn’t possible. But we know when you take control of your story, there are no limits. We want our story and journey to be yours as well. We want 2018 to be a success for us all. We look forward to another year with our existing clients and candidates and welcome new friends, clients, and candidates to LA.
